WHOLE VOICE Community Mini-Course
5 Seed-Sized Singing Lessons, Open To All, Centering Trans and Queer Voices
You are curious about working with me, and want a little taste of it before diving deeper with the more expansive Vocal Freedom Workshop.
You yearn to feel more free when singing.
You have formal singing training but sometimes feel disconnected from your heart and body when you sing with those formal tools.
You don’t have formal singing training but love to sing and would like to feel more free and connected to your heart and body when you sing.
You are transgender and are exploring new ways of singing and honoring your voice (with or without HRT) that feel like home to you.
You have have been told that you “can’t sing” and/or have experienced trauma connected to your voice, and you are looking for a gentle, trauma-informed way to ease back into singing.
You are longing for singing contexts that don’t rely on gendered expectations of voices or ideas of what anybody’s voice “should” sound like.
You can do part or all of this, in any order, although I recommend going in order if you can.
Day 1: Intention Setting, Reflection on the story of you and your voice
Day 2: Group Voice Lesson centering on trusting the wisdom of your body
Day 3: Group Reflection, Guided Warmup, Mini Voice Lesson with 2 volunteers
Day 4: Group Reflection, Guided Warmup, Mini Voice Lesson with 2 volunteers
Day 5: Singing Together & Closing Reflections
Participation means consenting to be a part of the recording that will be shared with others, although you can choose when/if to turn on your video. No one will ever be put on the spot to speak or sing unless they explicitly volunteer.
